Life and rabbits…

Life.

So long Gizzy. Helloooooo Auckland! See ya later lazy hot summer days. Helloooooo sticky hot busy days.
Ah the joys of actually growing up (don’t worry, it’s just a bit) and making the big decisions. As life would have it, I am one lucky person and had my eggs in lots of baskets and then I chose the one egg that wasn’t even in my favoured basket but as a “big person”, it was defiantly the wise thing to do. SO… the good old masters is on a hold.. JUST for a TAD! And I am spending my days working to fund what will hopefully be a very happy and artistic year.

Rabbits.

Something out there in the Universe loves me. I was gifted a job, a home, friends and rabbits all in one week. Just magic.

Thank you to those that have made our big move so easy and really, just straight up awesome.
Tu meke!

I have a very, very good feeling about this.

Spare change????

Wallet a little heavy with all that coinage????

Easy!.. Lighten the load and donate it to Red Cross and help out those that really bloody need it.

I left my heart in CHCH…

The beautiful garden city that inspired me through my photography degree is in a sad, sad state.. leaving those I left behind to push on through and make light of this horrid act. My love and thoughts will be with those that are hurting, weeping and digging for quiet some time. Christchurch, you not only looked after me but you will forever be a piece of me. May all of those that have been lost, rest in piece. Arohanui.

I’ve got a few things in the pipeline so I’ll try my best to keep you all posted with them and let you know what’s going on in the world of Hayley.

LOVE, SUNSHINE and HAPPINESS

HAYLEY ROBERTS PHOTOGRAPHY IN THREADED MAGAZINE ED.9, EXHIBITION ALLEY

Ok so this was a mega fluke, but it is one mega fluke that I am extremely happy with.
It goes to show that all you gotta do is keep up with the game and on the look out for ways to get yourself noticed in the art world. Never hesitate in entering competitions, just get your ass into gear, put it all together and hope like hell that they contact you with awesome news.
I am so incredibly stoked with the chance to get my BFA photographs out there and published, specialy by such an awesome publication as Threaded. So props to the Threaded crew for making it all happen for me and selecting me. AWESOME!

Pick up the latest addition of Threaded at all good book stores. If I can find it in Gizzy, chances are you can.

IDEAS, IDEAS, IDEAS

GETTING INSPIRED

So after many a month off (a very well deserved few months off) I have begun to break my creative drought with starting my thought process for a new series of images. I’ll put up little bits and pieces as I go so watch this space!

P.s I’m loving Gisborne!

FEAST YOUR EYES…

NEW PHOTOS: I have added some pickies of my new love of playing with skateboard decks. Hopefully there are more of these in the works.

FINAL SUBMISSION IMAGES UP

I know I’ve taken my sweet sweet time, BUT I’ve finally put up the images I submitted as my finals for my BFA. These images developed after I questioned myself about how much of a role should a photographer play as the master mind behind a photographic shoot, you know all the bits and pieces from the basic set up, costumes, models, subject matter… These images are my final creations that used a little of my creative direction, a hint of new found creative potential from the participants and also a dash of chance just to mix it up a little. I hope you like! CLICK HERE to see more!

NEW FAVE

Thanks to the lovely Kelly Williams I have been shown the magical world of Alexia Sinclair. An award winning digital artist and photographer,  Australian born Sinclair’s images draw together the Fine Art photography world with a clean cut commercial atheistic. Although I’m not a major fan of the over manipulated image, her images hit my composition, colour, subject matter and costume buttons. YUM YUM YUM.
